New EU Safety and Environmental Regulations Take Effect, Raising Compliance Standards for Export Equipment
2026-06-12
The EU officially implemented updated environmental protection and safety directives for industrial magnetic equipment in June, comprehensively raising the entry barriers for imported magnetic separators. All exported equipment including electromagnetic separators, permanent grate magnets and eddy current separators must pass REACH SVHC testing, CE mechanical safety certification and food-grade material certification. The new standards strictly restrict harmful substances such as lead, cadmium and hexavalent chromium, covering equipment main bodies, magnetic cores, surface coatings and sealing components. Non-compliant products will be directly rejected and returned. European cross-border e-commerce platforms and industry exhibitions prioritize the display of fully certified products, resulting in a 40% market share decline for unqualified equipment. Leading domestic manufacturers are actively upgrading production processes, adopting food-grade 304/316 stainless steel, lead-free coatings and low-VOC accessories to complete full certification, seizing the high-end European market share.
